ANIMAL AND WILDLIFE CHALLENGE APRIL/MAY 2026

Bracco Italiano (I did a visual search for the breed)

Inktense used as watercolor in Bee Watercolor Journal, 5″x5″

I started with an underpainting in a dark, muted blue, then added color.

I think I emphasized the wringles a little too much but inktense doesn’t lift very much do they will have to stand.

Anne, your rabbit and dog are both so beautifully done! It’s interesting how you made an underpainting with the dog. I never thought to do that with watercolor so I’ll have to try it.

Sandra, the fish is wonderful with the bold dark background and the way you used blue washes to make the tail look curved is amazing!

Grapes, your lynx is gorgeous! You used so many layers to create the illusion of fur and the eyes look alive!

Anne. Fabulous bunnies- both the ink start and then then colour finish !

Anne. Lovely bloodhound. I don't think you emphasized the wrinkles too much.

Thanks for the feedback. I wasn't sure if they read as wrinkles or just blotches of dark color.
