9 x 12 acrylic on paper .. alla prima .. painted today Jul 9/25
Not much to show today. I had a nice piece going with lots of color and values and decided to try an experiment of putting a square around the flower and pot but it was a disaster. So I then soaked the paper with very fluid paint and put the pot and flowers in with more contrasting values and then let water roll down the page in places horizontal and vertical. Made a mess but in spite of it all it had a few redeeming moments where I did learn about the application of paint. I figure I might as well show the failures as there are probably a lot more on the horizon. Not a big deal as it's all about learning. The can came off well. As a side note, yesterdays piece with the acrylic gesso on the back was put on a hard place and the ceramic tile was put on it overnight. The paper flatten out excellently.

I don't see any evidence of disaster here, Wayne, and love the wet look of the background! Some of the best things happen when we don't give up on our messes. This is really beautiful and you used those greens so well!

Thank you Donna. You are kind. I ordered some heavy body medium and heavy body paint. Starting point. Miss the heavy paint of oil and wax.

I think you'll like the heavy body paint and hopefully the medium will let you create all the texture you want.
