All are 11 x 14 inches ... oil on paper .. alla prima .. painted over the last few days of this week
still evolving and finding my way through thicker paint .. really liking the texture when I remember to he heavy enough

Rocks, trees and water ... you express their beauty so well with those thick strokes of paint! Very nice collection, Wayne.

A very nice set! Your output is always impressive, and it's clear that your recent trip has been inspirational.

I love the palettes in each one. Your sky colors really set the mood of the weather- nice work. ❤️

Thank you Terri. I have been mulling over painting I have seen in real or dreams or wherever: paintings that denote great light but use muted and less saturated color as a means of showing the light. I find that light much more appealing than the blasting light of saturation. Personal preference of course. Anyway, I have been fooling with the idea and it seems to be in the direction that I think works for me. After all, art is very personal.

Nice ones Wayne. I especially like the second one. Great job on the water. I agree with you on the less saturated colors. My paintings I can live with most easily tend to be the ones that are more tonal and less colorful. But I stubbornly persist with more color for some reason. One day I'll learn. :)

I really like these Wayne. I think they are my favourite works of yours so far. I like the cleaner look, and the more economical use and energy of the brushstrokes. I think it really serves you. You really captured the feeling of the place in a very impressionistic manner. 👏🏻👏🏻

Thank you John and Boss. I appreciate the in-depth look and comments as sparks sometimes do spark an insight.
