A Busy Beach

This is an approximately 5.5" x 4" quick ink and wash. I did the ink sketch with a flex nib fountain pen.

My vision is not what it used to be. As a result, I do not see the sloppiness of my paint application until I see the scanned image enlarged on a larger screen. Therefore, I think I now need to cut down on speed and concentrate on better brush and pen strokes.

But the downside is that, when I try to be more precise, I fear that the unsteadiness in my hand may creep back.

I'm sorry your vision isn't what it used to be.

As far as your paintings go, I like what you are doing and don't think you need to do it differently. You are suggesting detail and don't need to have it perfect. If your painting looks good its normal size, that's all you need.

I like this one very much. You have captured the scene and are telling a story.

You do such beautiful work, Balaji, and this is a wonderful beach scene! I'm sorry to hear about your vision and unsteady hand problem but I don't notice any sloppiness at all. Your washes blend so nicely.
