Thanks everyone, its nice to revisit some summer paintings in the winter

Hi Donna, Love this! This captures those cold cloudy dusk moments in winter with the thick atmospheres and when darker than the snow. Plus you added so much interest with the broken color creating the grays. Way to push yourself it’s a major success

Great work. I think it would be hard to choose another subject to paint if I was there. My painting instructor used to say, don’t paint the postcard. But that is one heck of a postcard. Red against your sky just works.

There is a site called canvas place where I used to get bulk floater frames for a great price. They were nice unfinished wood. Not $3.33 cheap though. One other super saver idea is to paint on stretched canvas and then lath frame straight into the stretchers. This has a nice contemporary feel
