    Cat in a Pot

I don't have experience with other papers for pastels so don't have anything to compare it to other than the one time with sanded paper for the soft pastels. I am wondering if there is a better paper for oils. I got both papers second-hand.

That is what I did! It worked.

Yes. I think it works better for oils, but works ok for soft too. I used your sanded paper that you sent me for a recent soft pastel piece and it worked well. I liked it! See attached for that one. It is also the piece that I mentioned fixing by mistake.

I made this over the last couple of days. Aliferous and Faber Castell oil pastels on Strathmore pastel paper.

    Fixative Regrets

I just put fixative on the second soft pastel painting i have created. I am sooo upset. What was I thinking? I should have researched it. I didn't even take a picture first...ugh. Do you protect your soft pastel work somehow? Frame it?

    Seaside Cliff

I already used fixative on it. I see what you mean. I was told the horizon line wasn't defined enough before. I went overboard on it this time I guess.

Thanks! I will try that. I used only Aliferous OPs on this one! My son thought it was a mudslide. Ha! I have always struggled with rocks. I will press on though!
