Winter lakeside

Hi folks, apologies for monopolising the forum. Posted as I think I have managed to get to something that resonates FOR ME.
Pastelmat, 2.5x3.5 inch, Rembrandt's. We went for a walk the other day and there were reeds in the half frozen lake edges, some snow and patchy clouds, chilly. But surprising the colours hidden there.
The result is my take on a semi abstracted winter scene.... I feel I could take the concept into a bigger format without loosing the looseness that I am after. Far from ideal but this time I don't cringe, or feel I copped out.

Considering that the image shows almost twice the size of the original, I think you could go larger with it. Very nice. (y)

You described this chilly scene so well and the reeds have just enough detail. I’d like to see this bigger too.

How do you get so much gorgeous color in these little gems? Brilliant, I tell you!

Thank you Sno, Donna and Terri. Thanks to the encouragement I think I'm making progress.
