Here's a detail from a fairly well known painting:

I'm curious to see whether anyone will recognize the painting - I'm sure StLukes will, but any other takers? :)
 
You know more than me, so perhaps van Amstel is the one. All I know is it probably wasn't Jackson Pollock.
 
Bruegel it is. But which painting? Hint: it has zilch to do with spiders; just one of those little details he was so fond of putting into his paintings.

At this scale, one can hardly see the little dot which is the spider. As I noted in another thread, I have been following a bot on X that posts high-res details from some of Bruegel's paintings, and I never realized just how packed with little details they are until these posts allowed me to zoom right in.
