Just wanted to reach out here to see if there are any Southern California Artist showing or attending the 57th Newport Beach Art Exhibition this upcoming Saturday(?)

I will be there showing two of my pieces, it's the first time for me, so not completely sure what to expect. I am hoping for a win in some of the various categories and (better still) hoping to sell my work and secure an Art Gallery wanting to sell me work as well...!

(I'll report back here, how I do)...

Oh wow! I have a piece that would be perfect, but sadly, I live too far away for it to make sense to enter. Morning on the Boardwalk:

So I'm no help as I haven't ever exhibited with this organization. Best wishes for multiple wins and gallery interest! What do you plan to enter? Can we see them?

Please keep me posted on your experience with this, and I'd love to see your submissions! Break a leg!

EDIT: Oh no! That was last year's exhibit. My apologies but I'd still love to see your submitted work and hear how it went.

No problem, I should have followed up, I did not win, place or show and was a bit dismayed. The winner of the photo category was a guy who used one of those old-time cameras on a tripod, that you get under a black cloth and view the shot upside-down. it was captured on a 4.5" square negative, which he printed as a 4.5" black & white photo. the photo was of some hills and water, not Yosemite-level cool or Ansel Adams-level contract, it had little detail and was kinda boring, so I guess he won cause of his format! The second place winner was a very colorful shot of a rusty bike, with a brightly colored fence and buildings behind it. it looked like vacation photo from Mexico or Jamaica. Sorry if i sound like sour-grapes, but neither showed the level of ARTISTRY that I felt mine showed.

I may enter again this year, with different Artwork. I put in a call to find out who the Juror is going to be and will NOT do it, if it is the same person...
