Scavenger Hunt from Life #172: Oct 05 - Oct 17

Robin, your hatching on that jacket is awesome! It looks so well loved and used. Love it! Your outdoor scene is fun with the desk lamp cousin.

I finally got to take some photos of recent sketches.

Ai - A bakery school is a cool idea and the breads all look so good in both the photos a your paintings. Am with Joan I could eat my way thru those shelves.

Robin - Love your artist jacket with lots of pockets. Clever association of newspaper with arm chair. I know we have an ice tray but neither o& us can remember where we stored it. LOL

Joan - At first I thought the red striped poles were a Holiday decoration already. 🤭 Proportions and perspective on café sketch are terrific. The yellow and blue pole is when I realized they were not Holiday decorations. That doorway is alluring even if blocked. Jerry’s nest made me smile.

Keep sketching and learning

Looks like I'm behind again. Whew!
Ai, your red uncle is so good and makes me laugh. Super background. The giant pod is a great find and the chair looks comfy. Yep, the duck can go with Joe's Donald. Yummy mango and custard, Well drawn all. Fun to see your legs and chairs in the coffee station. Super job on the chairs and table legs. Phew.... Thanks for the info on the brushes and the demo sketch. Lovely. I love your sub for bookshelf. I could just park myself there and eat it all!! Fun sub for pine cone, too. The outdoor cafe is great, I like the balconies. The old doorway is beautiful. And great to see Jerry. Is he writing his music?

Pine Cone, beautiful sky and moon. Good find for texture!! Love it. Love the goose. You are definitely back in the drawing mode. Nice shading and hatching. Thanks for all you tips and showing your work.

Joan, oh wow! Love the clothes line. The scene is spectacular. Thanks for the info on your drawing boards.. My foam core is all wearing out. Ha. Yes, you can eat for all of us!! Yummy seafood .... and pasta. Your sketches are "mahhhhvalous". The flowers and gondola poles/dock are so colorful.

Fletch, the bookcase and chair are amazing when I consider the size. I would have a blob!!

Ned, good you are home safe and sound. The sketch is great. Looks like maybe the ink dried a bit. Added some extra texture! You do well with a small amount of tools.

Robin, wow on the jacket. Fun finds for the dispenser and all. Oh, haven't seen an ice cube tray in years. Exciting.

We went down to the park yesterday. Gene went with me early (9) and napped in the car where it was comfy and cool while we set up. Joanna came and they left about 11. Had a good time helping folks sketch. We gave out sketchbooks, pencils, etc. Seemed like everyone had fun. I saw a few old friends so a bonus. My sketch was done as I showed how to use the different pens. Helped the pencil users with how to shade, etc. Some kiddos and moms mostly. They were painting clay figures for Halloween next to us so saw more people and colorful stuff going on. I didn't really have time to sit and sketch. They had music, folklore dancing, Native American drum group like they have at Pow Wows. Lots of food and other hands on fun. It got very hot by noon and I was happy to escape at 1pm.

Number 2 rock or texture - sub the old car. I've sketched it many times and it is really deteriorating. Just like me. Ha. In the Canson travel sketchbook with several different pens. Mostly Ohuhu and Micron.

Gene's shirt says, "Unfortunately, Killing them with kindness, is taking longer than expected"

Pine Cone, I like your goose, the hatching on the wings is great, nice smooth lines.

Ai -- the bread "studio" is fun, that's a neat idea. Your sketches are great and lively! You've reminded me I need to feed my sourdough starter that has been waiting 4 months...

Robin -- that jacket is wonderful! Always enjoy the colored ink sketches.

Joan -- The blue, green, grey in that doorway is really nice. All of them are great.

Jo -- :) we were typing at the same time again. That old car looks ready to roll in your sketch!
