The last time we watched the movie The Quiet Man, starring John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara, I thought to myself that this movie has a lot of faces that I need to draw. So, here are my first two:

Mary Kate Danaher. Charcoal on toned Canson Mi-Teintes paper, 12x16.

Sean Thornton. Graphite and white charcoal on toned Canson Mi-Teintes paper, 11x12.5.

Nice work.

For cheap (if you like that idea) try butcher's brown paper- like a paper bag as far as texture and the value is nearly smack in the middle.
