New: GIMP 3.1.4: The new developer release has been released - on the way to GIMP 3.2 [2025-09-01] :: The further process is also an invitation to collaborate with the community; just as it always is in open source projects....

...good morning, dear community, - hello dear Friends on Creativespark

.... there's good news from the GIMP team:
The release of GIMP 3.1.4 was announced yesterday (on gimp-org & reddit) [see below]!
The GIMP developers: This version contains the first implementations of our two main points on the GIMP 3.2 roadmap:

One could say: 3.2 is steadily taking shape. Core improvements such as link and vector layers are now testable in version 3.1.4, while core features (theme-aware user interface, non-destructive editing, format support) were demonstrated in 3.1.2.

The new features in a nutshell:

  • Link layers and vector layers.
  • It also includes a number of other nice new features, bug fixes, and internal improvements.
We're excited to share these with you and get your feedback in preparation for the GIMP 3.2 release candidates.
See the Reddit announcement:
The further process also serves as an invitation for collaboration: The aforementioned features are still in the early stages of user experience optimization. Community testers are crucial – your feedback on stability, usability, and missing workflows will help improve version 3.2.
