I just stumbled upon this Irving Penn portrait of the towering Arctic Explorer, Peter Freuchen and his fashionable wife, Dagmar. He certainly seems suitably dressed for today’s weather:

This is awesome, like most of Penn's portraits. That's quite a stance - I suppose it's necessary to support the weight of that coat.

Dagmar looks tasteful and tolerant.

What a contrast!

Love that dirty background - looks like it was set up in a basement, very stark and no nonsense.

Once again today this is a coat I could use.

My poor little pup, Raphael, came leaping up onto the patio and into the house and up on the chair next to me. He kept shaking… he’s a mix of Dachshund, Jack Russel, and Chihuahua… none being cold weather dogs. He’s fine now… wrapped up in a blanket with just his head poking out.

Reportedly, in the arctic they use freezers to prevent food from freezing completely solid. Looks like you and little Raphael could use a freezer.

It’s not as cold today… 29° F… 15° with the wind-chill. Tuesday is predicted to be brutal with temps near or below 0°.
