Previously known as Motel Art Piece.

I'm liking the idea of painting over texture. Can put some bones down first. Adds interest and the effects one can get with it are pretty cool.

I've been a little suspicious of acrylics, fighting them a bit, but I'm warming up to them. I started as a watercolorist and acrylics are like watercolors on steroids.

20 x 16 It grew because I cropped out the crummy edges of Motel Art Piece. Now it is a whole canvas again.

That was quick! The textured band is a little more subdued and it fits with the rest of the muted colors. Nice!

If you want to play with texture, try sponging and also patting with waded plastic wrap. (y)

Excellent! Just excellent! See how you have a talent for this now? (I hope so!) I love this!!!

Well I didn't like that the sky and tree line was so much darker than the foreground so I toned them down. It seems a little more unified to my eye. I think I like it better? Geez are we ever happy with what we have painted?

Thank you Donna. Yeah it was quick. It's cool how quickly one can work with acrylics.

Sno, yeah right? There seems to be a zillion ways one can do texture with acrylics. Fun stuff. Thanks.

Wayne, ah, more finished, but is it better? I have a feeling that you like "less finished". I might also.

Ayin, thank you, yeah OK, I guess have some talent for this. My sister has told me my modesty is unbecoming. :)

It just keeps getting better and better. I like the changes! More unified, as you say.

Thanks Donna.

It's signed and varnished and might go on the wall. It's just pleasant and un radical enough. Hotel art. Cheap hotel art. :)
