I've been playing with small wood panels for image transfers. This one is finished. It's a 4x4" wood panel and I did the image transfer with Golden Open acrylic paint. I'm kind of smitten with their India Yellow hue.
After the transfer is complete, I go over the whole thing with varnish. Gloss varnish delivers the best clearing of the paper bits from the image transfer, as well as overall clarity of the image. I like it for that reason, but it's impossible to get a picture without some light glare.
The image is from a scanned B&W film negative using a Holga camera. The Holga is definitely low-fi. There's slight vignetting in the corners and this little toy camera provides an easy square format, which I like for these little panels.
