Some try to ignore dirty color but it can add to the beauty when not overbearing .. moderation is key.

Can't see any dirty colours here! That background works so well with the pinks/yellows of the flowers.

Thanks Kay. To me there is dirty color in the background but it promotes the flowers to their place in the composition. It’s not really noticeable because it serves a purpose. I remember on a former site someone who cleaned their brush after each stroke. I never understood that as streaking color is so much more attractive.

One person’s dirty color is another’s calming, subdued neutral. I love some quiet color areas in a painting like your background in this one. Beautiful work!
