My palette is rather simple but very productive. Crimson, Ultra Blue, Yellow Ocher, Burnt Umber, Hooker Green, Tit White. Occasionally I add lemon yellow, cerulean blue, burnt sienna. According to AI, the first five avoid mud as they are all related.
I get away with it as I really simplify the subject much like early Russian Impressionism. I need a model so I use AI to give me a picture of my idea for a painting. Then I manipulate that into what I want to paint. My initial layer is sloppy and more to value. I then refine it. It’s Alla prima so decisions are made as I paint. Hope that helps in some way. The comp usually changes as I paint as I like one thing to lead to another like ashtray, glass, bottle, and man.
