I spend a lot of time looking at artworks from all periods, all styles, all subjects. I never considered that the fact that 'I like' an artwork or that 'I don't like' it is a guarantee of quality of such artwork. Certainly not ! I think we always learn something by looking at what other artists do .

Here is a superb and drawing from Pieter Brueghel the Elder - The beekeepers (at the British Museum). Enjoy !

I agree that we can always learn something by looking at all kinds of artwork whether we like it or not. Sometimes I just need to be exposed to ideas I've never heard of or considered before. Thanks for this - it's a wonderful drawing!
 
Breughel's graphic works... prints and drawings... are indeed quite brilliant... every bit as fine as his paintings. This particular drawing of beekeepers always struck me as almost surreal... but perhaps that shouldn't be surprising for Breughel. ❤️
