Wayne Gaudon Alla Prima Oil On Paper 11 x 14 inches

Thanks you Ayin. Rather simple but it can have an impactful punch.

Thanks CaliAnn.

Thank you Donna. Yes, it reminded me of Van Gogh as he played compliments well.

Thanks Queen and Bart.

I have learned to steal like an artist but it leaves no gratification. I can see how it would be useful to a selling artist but for myself it is just an empty hole. It's my art but it's not my art, if that makes sense.

Wayne, just because Van Gogh and others used compliments, doesn't make it off-limits or stealing for you to use them.
And you've used them quite well I might add. --

Thank you Bongo. I was more referring to taking other paintings and changing them in composition and hue etc. Much like musicians steal riffs by changing a note or two in the right place so they get the main drift of the riff but they can claim they were influenced by but did not copy the riff. 😇

Whatever you’re doing to change compositions or colors doesn’t seem like stealing to me, Wayne. I can never identify the original work and assume that you’re being creative because a Wayne painting has a distinctive Wayne look that no one else’s has.
