African Elephant

This is a loose and fairly quiick pen and ink sketch from a photo reference around five weeks after I started this experimental therapy. The sketch is a approximately 4" x 5" and was done with a Fude hard tip brush pen, and a black ink gel pen.

I used the term "quick" in a relative sense. This was not a ten or fifteen minutes sketch like some of the others that I posted, where speed was what I was focusing on. When I do a pen and ink sketch carefully I take anywhere around 45 minutes to 90 minutes, and sometimes even longer. I think I did this particular sketch in about twenty to thirty minutes, though I am not certain, since I was not timing myself. The important thing is that I sketched directly in ink (without any preliminary pencil lines) and also without measuring anything.
