    To post a discordant note, I find the first one a great success as a pointillist painting. I always admired poitinliism, with which I have seen some incredible effects. Your first try works real well, I wouldn't discard that technique too soon and cherish it for the future. It may work better...

    In my opinion, in that case. probably it would be better to stir, mix it and then immediately pour it in pans to solidify: if it's going to precipitate again, better let it do it in a form that is easier to recover and more intuitive to use.

    I think it depends on what you want to draw. I mean, the degree of tooth you need for a specific work. Some works benefit more from softer surfaces and some from rougher. In the end, it's the subject that should have the last word, as I see it (may be wrong though).
