Love the juxtaposition -desert against forest floor

They are the best! So much pigment, so watch the water/paint ratio. Very transparent with lots of water in mixture to make enough for a large painting when you need continuous color without "stop to mix more" areas!

I've not tried gesso surface-looks like I can get looser which is a needed effect for me. This is just great! I have a herd of Banded Galways up the road from me, so I may try your technique!
