What art supplies have you bought recently?

I gotta tell ya, I came back yesterday to respond to your statements, and couldn't get in! This, and other threads had a warning at the bottom saying I didn't have enough ..... [I forget the word] to post here, and a warning at the top to fix my email though I had not done anything to it. I...

What are your art goals for 2024?

I don't do "New Year Promises" so haven't set any goals. I hope to keep at it, whatever "IT" is. Though I have used mainly oil paint without solvents for years, I have also played with charcoal, graphite, watercolor, and gouache. I hope to continue with them. The last few days I used charcoal...

What art supplies have you bought recently?

I didn't buy it, it was given me for a Christmas gift. Does that still count? Art dice! Which was timely, as I had complained to myself recently, "I think my muse is all used up..."

PSA re: Dried-out Tube Water Colors

I was given a large set of wc--maybe 48 colors--about 8 years ago. Almost all colors had been squeezed into little plastic containers by the previous owner and of course dried out. Even the paints in the tubes have mostly dried. I am cutting needed paint from the dry tubes, I haven't seen any...

    Do you keep a - heads-up pile?

I do. Over the recent few years most of my work has been on paper, even oils. I keep most of it in a small tub under my desk. Some, I keep to remind myself of events or ways I handled a certain subject. I do go through it at times. I did a few days ago because a few of us at Art Group were...

    Acorns

Very nice, and is a good example for me. Yesterday I read an old tutorial regarding dots and washes. your painting incorporated the mark making in that tutorial.

    Kangaroo (watercolor version)

This is wonderful, and for me, so timely. Yesterday I read an old tutorial regarding dots and washes. Unfortunately most of the pictures are gone from it, but your painting is a perfect example of what the tutor was "tooting"! So many thanks. Yours is a wonderful piece.

    From Life A Few Florals

I've been working with watercolor for the last several months to learn about it, but this first floral started a longing for my oils. SO, after I do some paperwork, add color to two WCs, I'll see about scraping off my glass palette and starting an oil. Those are beauties, Wayne.
