I left the white of the canvas on the top and bottom. It’s pretty big. I took inspiration from various masters of abstracts giving shapes and methods from different styles and times a moment to be on the same canvas. It’s acrylic.

It was interesting to work with it!

Thanks Terri :) my husband likes it enough to hang it up where we’ll see it all the time. It is painting inspired by him, to, but I didn’t tell him, even if the tattoos were meant as his Halloween costume

It might be one of the best books I own! I rented a library book on different acrylic mediums and how to apply them and that helped break some ground.

I hope you keep posting your art here and showing it to people. It adds a nice dimension to your painting, and people will like to see them. I also think you should read about techniques in art books. I have an acrylic techniques encyclopedia and it’s nice knowing about all the techniques. I...

Rupert is a Rhodesian Ridgeback mixed with what we suspect to be the German Shepard that was in our old neighborhood. That puppy is just so happy to be at the pumpkin patch :) I think you’re painting will do great at the donation! It’s a nice thing, donating. :)

I’ll post a picture when it dries all the way. The paint is really seeping into the canvas like her technique does. Wasn’t expecting it to look so different than wet.

It was fun Donna! I also felt as if I went in depth with Frankenthaler. I looked up her paintings online and read her page in the masterpiece encyclopedia I rented from the library after I painted. I can appreciate some things I couldn’t before.
