    Using printer toner as pigment mixed into open acrylic medium. The carbon and mars are Golden tube paints.It incorporates really easily into the acrylic and makes a very dense, matte paint. Makes sense, since it's essentially ultra fine ground pigmented plastic. Will have to do lightfastness...

    Dead paint file?

    I have a dead pen file. I am incapable of throwing away gel pens, no matter how crappy. I used to empty the ink into pots and paint with it, but I haven't done that in years. Still keep the pens though. That historical tube sounds cool. You should put it in a display box.

    Desaturating with "complementary" colors. The little wheel thing works ok (with a few adjustments) as long as you mix your colors to match the tabs. I think its best use is just reminding me I can do that.

    light, middle dark isn't exact, it's grouped into close enough ranges. Functionally identical, not actually identical.

    They work pretty good, I think. Interesting to note, the chalk seems to make them handle better too. The pure graphite one is rock hard and will only make a light stroke. The others work fine and layer a bit even on regular paper. You can see in the bottom pic, that the pure graphite one...

    light gray and pure graphite. The gray was supposed to be white, but eh. The chalk seems to condition it. Trying to roll the pure graphite one was hard. It kept cracking even when very moist. Hopefully it holds together enough.
