Water Lily

Inktense used like watercolor in Bee WC Journal, 5"x7".

I had fun with this one, trying to work on value contrast and trying to make it pop. The paper was able to take multiple layers for the dark water areas without a problem which I was pleased with. I also loved using my Princeton Aqua Elite Long Round, which has a very sharp point, to get the tiny corners between all the petals.

I don't have much luck with masking fluid, so I added the reflections on the edges of the puddles later with some Titanian white watercolor.

Beautiful work as always, Anne! Whenever I try to use masking fluid I get hard, unnatural edges so I like what you did with the white watercolor.
