Thank you Donna .. no, I did not.
I just play con-artist and steal bits and pieces small enough to hide and then I reassemble them adding things from imagination into a different puzzle. I think the proper term is I was influneced by others. Of course this is just bar talk as I would never steal.

Now two table tops that remind me of water, which is no bad thing. I like this painting and I'm intrigued by this new element in your work I feel this is a nod to the surrealism discussion elsewhere on the forum.

Also, it brings to mind (a portion of) a certain Mervyn Peake poem:

A freckled and frivolous cake there was,
that sailed on a pointless sea,
or any lugubrious lake there was
in a manner emphatic and free.
How jointlessly, and how jointlessly
the frivolous cake sailed by
On the waves of the oceans that pointlessly
threw fish to the lilac sky.

Yes, like feelings on a wave of emotion, bringing thoughts which are both smart and dumb while rolling out a collection of images within to help the conscious mind try to make sense of it all by comparison to it's stored images. It's little wonder that humanity is blind.
