Still life studies from this spring. They are all oil paintings on a strong paper, size small.
Painting time per each is 30 minutes. In couple of them I spent more time. Paintings from life.

Your right, the shadows were fun. I had to direct the light source and move the containers to get the shadows interesting. I have a black box for these so it restricts light well.

I agree, great studies. Giving yourself a time limit really forces yourself to look and make decisions. Great practice.

There're few more parameters to take into consideration but the 30 min time limit is the main.

Terrific work, Grapes! For a 30-minute time limit you achieved excellent detail. Lovely!

Terri, thanks. These 30 mins are pretty intense painting. You need to be very organized and prepared. You get nervous too. You are in a hurry. Paintings need to be small bc there's no time to do larger ones. In some of these there's pre-mixing allowed but mostly not and these are a class/workshop works.
