Wayne, thanks for posting another one. I see there good division of light and shadow, more restricted light and more symmetrical composition than in the first one. Did you use the same color scheme as in the first one?

Thank you Grapes. I basically use five colors and add one if I’m convinced I need it. Crimson, ultra blue, hookers green, burnt umber, yellow ocher, tit white.

Nice drawing Kristen.

I like your painting Wayne, very expressive and moody.

Personally I like to both draw and paint, sometimes in fountain pen only, add acrylic ink and watercolour washes/ glazes or acrylic ink/ watercolour only for more expressive pieces.

I haven't done a lot of still life pieces but they are definitely appealing. Like Wayne I adapted mine to sit on a flat surface with a background behind and a fake "horizon" line. Muted foreground and background to emphasize the subject and deliberate bleeding and uncontrolled washes to add some interest.

Shane, beautiful work!
I like the strong strawberries next to soft
surrounding areas. 👏 Well chosen colors.
For me it's interesting to read your working process as l never used these art tools. Thanks!

I like your interpretation of the strawberries, Shane. Your muted washes elsewhere were a good choice!

Wayne, another beauty!! 👏
Love this one! What attracts my eye is that the painting is very united in a way that everything fits together so nice. I like the hint of color on the plate - giving it light. Grapes 🍇 are well worked and it gives me the idea of blocking them first as a mass. I can be wrong, too. Just thinking here out loud.
I like a lot these still life's of yours! I'm big fan of earth colors. You paint beautiful still lifes.

Thank you Grapes. I like muted color as well. Yes, I paint the grapes as one shape and then pull a few individual ones to make it look like your eye would see them. Focus on a few instead of the lot.

Grapes that was lovely of her to do. And what a wonderful memory in an absolutely gorgeous place!

Enyaw, you knocked it out of the park again with the last two paintings. You are on a roll! I definitely agree with the tonalist style of your work in these pieces.
Hi Shane. You did a lovely job on those strawberries with your ink and watercolour/wash technique.❤️
