[Balaji]

This is a lovely stone sculpture by T. Vijayavelu, displayed in Cholamandal Artists’ Village, Chennai before their iconic banyan tree. My sketch is approximately 19 cms x 15 cms on cartridge paper, in pen and ink, using a 0.1 Staedtler pigment liner. I did the skeleton of the sketch on location during the Art Society of Chennai (formerly known as Chennai Weekend Artists) sketching event on 11th Sept 2022 and built up the tones at home yesterday (over a week later).
