This 8"x10", acrylic on canvas board.
I wanted to do a simple design with different shapes.
The first is the drawing, the second is just some
color to get rid of the white and then the final painting.

Nice one, Perry! I enjoyed seeing your progress shots too. This is really interesting and the fact that the shapes aren't anchored to the bottom gives a kind of floating sensation. Do you have a color scheme in mind when you start or do you make it up as you go along?

I try to have some kind of balance with the colors but the intensity
and value are assigned as I go.
I try to echo the colors throughout the painting ahead of time.

I really like the direction you are taking. Your use of colour is very refined and appeals to me. Sorry to again make connections (I can't help myself), but I am reminded of Giorgio Morandi's work.
