I saw "dusties" elsewhere, and thought it a good way to differentiate between "oil pastels" and "non-oil pastels". "Soft pastels" might be puzzling, because OPs – even my hard Pentels – are softer than, say, NuPastels.
"Dusties" is easier to type, as well!
