A couple of Cats

Pen and ink in XL Mix Media sketchbook, about 5"x7" each.

I start with a freehand sketch, then I add ink, and finally watercolor.

Thanks to Mona P from wetcanvas for the reference photos.

The first one is Dobbie, a Devon Rex. What an expression!

Here is the same sketch after color has been added.

This one just has color for the eyes and nose. He is a ragdoll breed. The big challenge for me on this one was to try and capture the while whispy hair across the ears. The cury fur on his chest was an interesting challenge too.
